I installed E-UAE on my linux machine today. Pretty nice program. Not anywhere nearly as good as WinUAE, as you can't do the real Amiga stuff, such as setting up hard drives, but with that said, is a great emulator to run on a linux box. Linux users should give it a try. It is nice to be able to run the emulator outside of VirtualBox, on the native OS.

I have one installed in on my PS3 YDL v6.2. The emulator works great with full speed and WHDLOAD, the only thing I didn't do is SYSINFO on it.
I did had a hard time setting up the HD in a folder, the file properties did not transfer very well, so I'm running on hard-file.

It's Amiga time!

I got a hard drive done once in either UAE or E-UAE but I remember it being kind of a hassle. Mostly, because I was using a folder as the hard drive, some game installers would protest, as they would read the size wrong.

Finally figured out how to edit the config file to use .hdf files in E-UAE. Downloaded FS-UAE, it is really nice. Much easier to change config. Pretty straightforward as far as syntax, and has directories for things such as hdf files, adf files, and so forth, without having to create them, and then set path for each. Thanks for the info on FS-UAE.

I've used euae on my linux box for awhile. I have it start os3.x amd I have something like like 5,000 amiga games, thousands of amiga apps, and 5000 amiga demos on that install.
I keep a backup of the amiga folder on a 16gb usb thumb drive so I can use the same amigaos install on any other machine. Its nice. I have been meaning to get a huge collection of adfs so I can just start games/apps and so on straight from the linuxs desktop without going through amiga os, but I suppose I kind of like the amiga os install. My more commonly used amiga stuff should be installed that way though, because takes awhile to navigate through everything otherwise. I have not seen this fs uae before, I'll give it a try. |

We just had a great time last weekend with Super cars and Nuclear War on PS3. While EUAE is not nearly perfect (actually very far from it as lots of stuff doesnt run or runs with graphical glitches and rarely at full speed, do you have much frameskip set?) it still offers good retro fun. I see a new version was released recently, will test it today when I get off work.
