Do you think the battery will become a significant problem quickly? I mean, I only see a little bit of corrosion on the bottom. But fair enough, I'll see what I need to do to get it out of there.

Fair enough... though my thought process was to let the person who buys it off me deal with it. (and I'd make sure they knew, of course)
