Just get the latest 0.2w indi.card version from the thread over a1k.org.
Also u need to put one empty file (named INDI_SWITCH_VAR1) in Devs: folder and init the card by putting:
Code:
Libs:Picasso96/indi.card
...as first command in Startup-Sequence.

Yes!! 256-color WB!! Indi.card 02.w did the trick!
But without the "LIBS:Picasso96/indi.card" line in the beginning of the startup-sequence.
The system complained about that it "couldn't find the program", even though
I put the right line in the startup-sequence. So I had to remove that.
I only have the Indi monitor driver started before IPrefs, and then it boots straight
into a 256 color Workbench!

I can hereby also confirm that it works with an 030/42Mhz/8MB MTec accelerator!

Cool. Can you tell us how usable it is? I'd love to see it in action with Imagefx or photogenics or something..

I got it working with 02.w - I think I may have had the indi.card in the wrong place as the one in Libs:Picasso96 was smaller than the one I found in Libs. Once I copied that over to Libs:Picasso96 it started working.

Speed with 800x600x256 appears to be faster than the 1280x720x4 mode. I cannot get 1024x768 working due to the monitor, which is unfortunate since that's my LCD's native resolution.

So we have a confirmed working on an A2000, 1MB Chip, 8MB Fast RAM on GVP 68030/33 combo accelerator.

Other than just getting the screenmodes working, how is it for practicle usage? Is it as good as a low end gfx card like the spectrum? How is window redraw? How long to render images with gfx apps? that kind of stuff.

This may spur me onto replacing my retina with an indivision for Movieshop usage with VlabMotion in an a2000

I made an article on my blog with testing Symplex's driver both in a stock 3.1 installation (with BetterWB from Gulliver) and in my current beefed ClassicWB Full installation.

http://mfilos.blogspot.com/2012/04/a...ision-ecs.html

You can clearly see the differences in speed as Stock3.1 is really responsive and fast on 256 colors. ClassicWB with heavy patching and Scalos is a bit slower, as I believe 3.9 would be even more.
Also you can see the difference in speed comparing it to my current ClassicWB installation using Ratte's SuperPlus 800x600 driver @ 8 colors (MWB) which is really fast and nice.

Anywayz... Symplex's driver is still on progress, so I expect that further optimizations might occur. It's really neat by all means.
I'm gonna try other RTG tests like Novacoder's Boom and perhaps (for fun) AfAOS lol!

I've tested it with AdPro and after loading an 800x600 JPeg photo, it rendered
pretty fast in 800x600 8Bit (256 col). So, no more dull 16color pics, but real
nice 256 color in high resolution!

My specs:
A600, MTec030/42Mhz/8MB Fast/2MB Chip/OS-WB 3.1/2GB CF-HD/1,76MB HD diskdrive/A604/IndiVisionECS
