I'm looking at updating my dull standard workbench with newer icons and better backgrounds. I've heard something about MagicWB but not sure how to get hold of it.
Can someone point me in the right direction and tell me what is reccomended for my current setup. Thanks.

If you want nice workbench then just install one of these: http://classicwb.abime.net/index.htm
I got it installed almost on all Amigas, they have everything you want and more, highly recommended. Install on real Amigas is a little tricky, but it's worth it. Actually, my A4000 hard drive is behaving badly when hot, lost everything, so at this moment I'm formating a new one. The next step is ClassicWB install.

It's Amiga time!

I know this isn't exactly what the OP asked, but I'll also give a giant vote for ClassicWB. It does require UAE to get up and running but damn, it's worth it, even for the hassle.

Thanks for the feedback guys! UAE? I've heard of this. Is it some sort of emulation? In order to get this done am I going to be pulling hairs out?

You can get the demo of version 2.1p here:
http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/MagicWB21p Last update looks like 1997. Not sure if you can still register it. |

Nope, can't register it anymore. But here you can find the regged 2.0r version. I think 2.1 just adds some icons and can't be registered but you can steal the icons from that I think.

Install NewIcons http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/NewIcons46 and replace default icons with glowicons http://aminet.net/package/pix/gicon/GlowIcons
That way you get OS3.9 look for your 3.1 system |

You don't need an emulator to install ClassicWB on a real Amiga.
Have a look http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=33122 |

I don't care for Magic WB (to dated), New Icons are a must have! Easy to install and use, and there loads of icon sets out there.
If you want bloat, go with ClassicWB. Can't get more bloated.... |
