Main computer, AmigaOne X1000.
Second computer AmigaOne XE. I also have a Mac mini but don't use it, I no longer have the desk space for it. At work - unfortunately Windows machines :-( |

My favourite would be AOS4, but to me it needs more tuning. I have a hunch that with very minor tuning MOSmini can act as my main machine. AEROS would provide a peek at AROS + mandatory mainstream+work apps in Amigish environment. AOS4 would be there to play with & see how far it has come. (it can also provide firefox derivate if needed, sure, also AEROS can do it) AOS3 for some madatory 68k HW enjoyment + authentic retrogames, etc.

from 1999-2005 believe it or not, I used an A1200T/060/PPC + PicIV + XSurf for everything. Web browsing was very fast, fastest I've used on Amiga (both IBrowse and Voyager, registered), Miami DX. Web is a different animal today, not sure how that system would still hold up, but at the time did all online banking and various transactions.
System was on a heavily patched 3.1 with various startup, everything using FastRAM except AGA screens on the other monitor + blizkick, tweaked memory, etc. Sorta sorry I sold it all, but it was a massively hacked tower with CD Rom / Zip, many drives. |

I use my AmigaOne/AOS4.1upd4 as main computer since 2003 (and before was A1200PPC+AOS3.9).

My Amiga(s) gets used on an almost daily basis, primarily for musick/noiz composition.
Sometimes I use the Amiga's paint programs, do a little gaming, etc. I have a ton of video production hardware I'll be hooking up to it after I move. Def not my only computer though, I also use MorphOS and AROS, not to mention Amithlon and a PC for all those apps we don't have. :/ |

My A1200 was my main Computer, until two years ago. Now its my second machine.
In my humble opinion, i dont feel any Powerbook G4, or similar systems, be a Real Amiga. For me its just any computer running AmigaOS, or like AmigaOS distribution. But anyway if you enjoy, and work, then ... there is nothing more to say

I attempted it back in 2002 (or thereabouts). Found a NOS Magic Pack from an old dealer in California, and loaded it up with a DCE Blizzard 1260 factory clocked at 60MHz from (the now defunct) KDH Datentechnik. It didn't last long, the games and demoscene on the PC is simply too good to ignore. I also have no indwelling hate for Windows or "PC" hardware, either.
These days, I suspect using the Amiga as a main machine would only serve to put me in a foul mood. I much prefer tinkering, hunting down rare cards, learning about the hardware, WHDLoad, etc. It's a (mostly) relaxing hobby. |

Damn does it feel like one! Minus the Paula and AGA of course! I think if I were going to run an alt OS next to my Amiga, I'd rather it be Amiga like, or worst case scenario (and this ain't a bad scenario at all) BeOS/Haiku!

I'm using this A4000T/060 for pretty much everything. Have an old windows box running in the cupboard which is occasionally accessed via TwinVNC for websites that aren't happy with IBrowse and running the odd bit of windows only software.
The A4000T is a great workhorse which runs my business, website, does inventory management, timesheets, invoicing, Email, wordprocessing, DTP, technical documentation, embedded software development, image/sound editing, scanning, fax, answerphone. It's also an FTP server, local file and print server and a bunch more stuff. Plays games too, but I only ever seem to have time for work these days. Perfect for what I do as it's highly flexible, easy to use and reliable. But if your primary aims are to browse the web and play 'modern' games, then Amiga OS3 is probably not for you. |

MorphOS is my main OS by far. I use it on several machines. Sometimes XP or OS X gets booted, and it's handy to have them, too but most of the time it's MorphOS for me.
