Amiga Marketplace This forum is here so that members can alert other members to Amiga items they've seen on eBay (or other auctions). If you are selling Amiga items on eBay, you might let us know about them here. Likewise, if you're selling Amiga items sans eBay, this is the "for sale" forum.

The arrogance and entitlement seems to run pretty deep here. Should not the owner decide how they sell their property? Is this not the nature of collecting?

People do that especially with large items, it makes things more sellable. Not everyone wants a (or wants to pay shipping on a) 2000. But they might need a 2000 keyboard, mouse, manual to complete a system they already have.

They might also want a 2000 itself for spare parts and already have the mouse, keybaord etc. This leaves the keyboard and mouse for those who need those.

If you need the whole system, find one that is whole, or bid on all the parts you need.

I don't see anything wrong in a seller listing in such a way to make their system more sellable.

If you had actually taken the time to read his ad you'd have seen that he needed to hang on to the keyboard and mouse to test some other Amigas that he was preparing for sale. That tells me that the cares about what he sells. And besides, if you don't like it, then don't buy it. Grow up!

I understand how you feel, but unfortunately there is something called "free market",it's like the games, you know you go to the shop you buy armor for 50gold the merchant buys your armor for 5 gold...sucks ...

Amiga in spanish means friend who is female (friend who is male is Amigo).

Getting macho over a disrespecting your girl is bad enough, but this is an ebay listing for old computer hardware. I can't see how you'd have enough of an emotional attachment to it do time in prison.

It`s in the buyers interest to get as much as possible as cheaply as possible.
It`s in the sellers interest to give as little as possible for as much money as possible.

Basic capitalism (there`s no such thing as a free market but that`s another topic)

What gets me more annoyed is the same guy listing the same individual issues of amiga magazines for amounts that clearly arent selling (as he keeps relisting them). Can`t be economic when you factor in ebay fees. Usually clutters up half the page when you search for amiga stuff.

IMHO The leaking battery is the most bothering thing. I wouldn't trust this A2000 working a longer period than just powering up.

Selling things separately is nasty but common.

What bothers me is seeing items in the USA, but the seller doesn't want to sell them to someone in Canada! *GASP*

Well, Maybe i worded the subject wrong, as it really doesn't "anger" me per se, just something I wouldn't do, and I won't buy from someone who does this. I did read the post, and if it were me, i would test the ones I had, then post them for sale, that way i could send the keyboard, with the best system, and sell the others for parts. But that is just me, everyone is different. I will give the guy credit, though, in the fact that he did list the issues with the A2000, instead of just saying "untested, as is" and leaving it up to the buyer to deal with the woes of the battery leakage and whatever else was wrong. Also, at least the guy is testing them before selling them, and giving out info on what is wrong. There are a lot who don't.

I agree! The Amiga 2000 was sold with a mouse and keyboard as standard, so it should be included.

As for those who have believe that owners should do as they please, they should not complain when they hear stories of Amigas being trashed!

I was recently happy that I was able to be able to buy a scsi addon to my rig without the accelerator it attaches to being included as I already have that.

Hey as far as Im concerned if a guy wants to light his amiga on fire and watch it burn, thats his perogative! This is what living in a free world is. When others start to dictate to you what you can and cannot do (according to their opinion) it leads to many problems.

What nobody every talks about in these threads are the HOARDERS who have 3x1200, 4xa4000T, etc etc for what reason? Meanwhile, people getting back into the amiga hobby cant find boards or systems. (and the HOARDERS complain about ebay prices well thanks in part to them these prices are so high)
