Default Setting up a CF-HDD for a real a500 using WinUAE?

Hi all, I've been experimenting with WinUAE while slowly restoring my a500+ and I've been successful in creating an Amiga formatted Flash drive that should boot in a real Miggy.

The Issue I've had is that WinUAE has never let me use my a500+/a600 KS3.1 ROM when using an a500+/a600 hardware profile so i've always just used an a1200 profile so I can play with WB3.1.

So my question is, if I have installed and configured my CF-HDD using an a1200 profile, will it work properly in my a500+ once I get my IDE68k board?

If it wont, how do I get WinUAE to let me use a KS3.1 ROM for a500/600 on and a500+/600 HW profile?

WinUAE gives you this error message because you're trying to use the Kickstart 3.1 revision 40.68 for A1200. The one you need is revision 40.63 for A500.

Thanks, pretty sure I have 40.63 but I'll give it a go.

The ROM you pm'd me (40.63) is the exact one I was trying to use with a 500+ config but all I get is a black, blue & purple screens?

I haven't sent you any PMs, it must have come from someone else.

If it doesn't work then you're probably using the wrong configuration in WinUAE. Just go to Quickstart, select A500+, best compatibility, click Set configuration and then go to the ROM tab and select the 3.1 rev 40.63 for A500/600/2000.

Tried all that and I get the colored screens described above.

Weird, I can get it to boot with my KS2.04 ROM but not my KS3.1 ROM.

Success, found an apparently modified 40.63 ROM that works, no idea what is modified but im not complaining!

EDIT: the file name for anyone interested is:

Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.63 (1993)(Commodore)(A500-A600-A2000)[!].rom

and it's from the TOSEC Collection v0.04
