Default Dot Matrix Printing Question

Just wondering if this fairly new dot matrix printer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epson-LQ-3...3#ht_701wt_907

would allow me to print on my Amiga 1200/500 it has a parallel connector so I can connect it but what do I do about drivers? I like the idea of having a nice old sounding printer hooked up, its crunching dot matrixing sounds will blend in nicely with the crunching from the floppy drive.

I think there are drivers or similar in Turboprint.

I had a look at that and it seems to cost about €80 which is mental, more than a printer will cost! Is there a free version at all?

Can you still get new ribbons for those?

The workbench 3.1 epson driver should work for printing text. if you want gfx turbo print would be best, but there are probably some free drivers on aminet.

It supports ESC and ESC/2, so the original Epson drivers work. I never tried anything else than printing text on it though.

For the record, I used one of these with an Amiga as late as 2004, and yes, you should still be able to get ribbons for it.

I would guess that the Epson drivers from OS3.5 &/or OS3.9 should work well for this printer.
Most people here want super quiet computers - you are bucking the trend...
Go for it...

I like my Amiga to make a bit of noise, gives it character! Although it is kind of cool how quiet it can be compared to modern day PC's without all the fans etc. Thanks for all the advice going to go ahead and get bidding!
