Default Space Quest Creators reunite for new "SpaceVenture"

Hi All,

Shameless plug alert:

I'm sure many of you remember the classic Sierra Space Quest games starring the hapless space janitor Roger Wilco. I still have my original Amiga copy of SQIV and Atari ST copy of SQ3 complete with cardboard cut-out Andromedian snout and sunglasses!

Well the creators of Space Quest: Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe (aka the Two Guys From Andromeda) have reunited after an almost 20 year hiatus to make a new game in the sci-fi/comedy/adventure game genre, and they need our help!

It's provisionally titled "SpaceVenture" and will be a separate game from the Space Quest series (due to the SQ IP not being owned by them).

They've started a Kickstarter page for funding the game and so far are just over halfway to their goal of $500,000 with 10 days left to go.

They've got some impressive voice talent on board already including Ellen McLain (GLaDOS from Portal), Gary Owens (narrator from SQIV and SQ6) and Rob Paulsen (Pinky from Pinky and the Brain).

There's a raft of reward tiers and the rewards themselves include DRM free copies of the game, a Buckazoid coin, coupon's for copies of the original SQ games from gog.com, signed artwork and a behind the scenes DVD.

You can check out the Kickstarter campaign here: http://tgakick.com

And the Two Guys from Andromeda site here: http://guysfromandromeda.com

Please take a look to see how it going and pledge a buck(azoid!) or two if you want.

Cheers,
Crumpster

Just a bit of an update, it's now up around $312,000 at last count with 6000 backers.

And an interview with the Two guys has been released on adventuregamers.com:
