Hello All,
In my last tread I mentioned I am having problems with my genuine A4000T and a Cyberstorm MK2 card working due to the on built A4000T SCSI controller. The Cyberstorm works fine in A4000 desktop machine. Does anyone have an idea how to disable the A4000T SCSI controller? I have tried playing around with the built in dip switch's on the back of the machine with no result's. The only thing I can think off is putting A4000 desktop Kickstart roms in my A4000T as it doesn't know about the A4000T SCSI controller. But I just hope there is a better way. I would love to hear your feedback on the subject.

You could try the NONCRSCSI module but you'll need Loadresident or Loadmodule and a reboot to use it or you could make a custom 3.9 ROM.

Does the CS2 have a scsi controller attached?

One fool proof way to disable the A4kt's on-board SCSI is to switch the machine to A4000D (desktop) ROMS. It will boot faster as a bonus too. I have used this trick several times and it works great.

I once had an A4000T with an Cyberstorm MK2 overclocked to 80Mhz (using latest mask 060). It was very fast (for a Classic that is) and never had any stability problems with it. If it doesn't even boot the problem is elsewhere. It might seem a strange suggestion but have you inspected the contact between the MKII and the CPU slot ? I once had a PicassoIV fail on me and I suspect it was because of that, it worked everywhere except on the A4000T but the 4000T worked with every other card. Another suggestion, failing other attempts maybe update the capacitors on the 4000T / MKII. It might not solve anything but those tend to not work within spec after all these years.

I've wondered this as well.

It boots slowly, prevents my Deneb from running with DMA enabled and is pretty much just in my way.

It's one of the reasons I went back to a 4000D as my main system actually.

If 4000D ROMs fix it then I may have to try it.

Edit: added bonus - you get workbench.library back in the ROM!

Well, you've got a Deneb and it comes with Luciferin and the mentioned NoNCRScsi module. Just burn it to your flashrom and you're done.
