My problem is this: I recently upgraded my A1200 BlizzPPC With a Mediator SX and a Voodoo 3000. I use P96 to get it running on the monitor, which it does no problems, however OS 3.9 only shows 2 meg graphics mem (so I assume its still using the chip ram).
When I use show config it recognises that the Voodoo is attached by showing it as an 8 meg card (due to the memeory window, I assume). But when I use Sysspeed it still only show the graphics ram as 2 meg. But some how I'm managing to run the desktop in 24bit graphics mode. I dunno...I just want to see that I have more graphics mem than 2 megs.

Yeap,that the chip-mem.
AmigaOS never ever showed RTG-mem by itself(but you may find some hacks/patches for that on Aminet). Got P96 running ? WB on a monitor connected to the Voodoo ? Answerboth with "yes" and it is using the mem on the Voodoo :-o ;-)

You should use availp96 to see how much graphics memory is in use/available.

Its normal. Mine does that as well. Workbench only shows "chip" RAM. The fact your using the voodoo is a hack so to say. If you notice while you open windows and stuff your chip ram at the top wont go down. Thats a shure way to know all is okay, and the fact your looking at a 24bit screen.

It's not a hack, support for graphics cards is there in the OS, it's just not obvious from the title bar.

It will not match it for features & memory, but there's a Bvision out there which should match it for sheer performance.
BVISION: Permedia 2 250Mhz Ramdac SGRAM 140Mhz+
