My A1200 came with an IDE cable which lets me connect the 2.5" internal HDD and then has 2 more normal (44 pin) IDE connectors for connecting 3.5" hard drives or IDE cd-rom drives.
My problem.. Well up until recently i was able to connect an IDE CD-ROM drive or a 3.5" hard drive to this cable with no problems whatsoever. I think i used to set the IDE device to slave. Anyways, now whenever i connect anything to the normal IDE connector the Amiga refuses to boot. All i get is the device (cd-rom or hard drive) starting up but that is it. No display except for a few seconds maybe some blue lines and then black screen. Once i disconnect the IDE device and switch off and on again Amiga boots perfectly (without any IDE devices except for the internal hard drive) It does not make sense because it used to work fine before.
