Genie Naming Contest from DiscreetFX

Chicago, Illinois – January 3rd, 2008

The Genie is finally out of the bottle. That's right Aladdin 4D now has it's own virtual character as part of a new branding campain. You knew that would happen right? You can see her image on the Aladdin 4D blog.

We have a problem though, she needs a name. We are asking for help from the Amiga & Aladdin 4D community to name her. There is $100 in it for you as well as a lifetime of free A4D upgrades on all platforms. In addition, you will get your name in the Aladdin 4D credits. How about it everyone? Submit your suggestions to the Aladdin 4D forums please or send an e-mail.

Two Middle Eastern names come immediately to my mind.

While generally associated with the Balkins, NADIA is fairly common in Lebanon and the surrounding region. There it is pronounced more like "Nad-ya", instead of "Na-di-a" as in the famous gymnast.

A very uncommon name is Hiyam (pronounced "He-am" with long E and short A sounds). Hiyam translates into English as "affection."

As I said, these popped right into my head. Small wonder. They are the names of my daughter and wife.

Wow..she's gorgeous! I say call her "Genie" as in that 60's show "I Love Genie"

I also like "Mia"...in Italian that would be "my Genie!"
