Exactly which Mercedes have you driven? Which gearbox are you referring to?

Also, If I needed a new cylinder head I'd probably just buy one (parts are cheap for "real cars") rather than refurb it.
New cylinder heads for German cars are usually very expensive, and obviously don't come assembled. Sorry, you'll still need more than a "ratchet".

A friend of mine emigrating from the UK says that many people in Britain maintain some sort of private insurance, because of potential long waiting periods for specialty care. (A quick google search shows a plethora of such plans.) I have absolutely no desire to defend the US healthcare system, but yours isn't without its share of problems.

Without a desire to dredge up this debate too much but... the wait time of a person with no insurance is pretty long, and going to the ER isn't free.

Eh? If you're on about the UK, then the entire thing is free. Well, bar stuff like plastic surgery and spray on hair pescriptions, so the average american would be no better off.

Oh, and Damion: I've driven exactly zero merecdes, but I've heard plenty about them and done minor repairs on a few e-classes. The all I've ever heard (from the cab company that runs them) is that The manuals are ****e.

Also, nobody but daily mail readers have health insurance in the uk. The real people (The daily mail reader would call these proles) don't bother because it offers absolutely no advantage whatsoever. As soon as the NHS knows they can't treat you fast enough (for anything from an ingrown toenail to a weird rare form of flesh eating disease) they pay for you to go private anyway.

@Thread
Any chance the pseudo-politics can be taken to the CH? They have no relevance to Amigas.

@Hell Labs
Is there any reason why most of the threads you're posting on seem to develop into childish name-calling?

So far only two of them did that, I consider it a skill. I did actually try to steer it back onto amigas but it didn't work.

I suppose I'm just becoming less tolerant of (the large number of) people on this forum who seem to be incapable of discussing opposing viewpoints without calling each other names. It's quite pathetic really.
