Default Converting the Apollo 1240 to a 1260

I started a thread over at the English Amiga forum a while ago about converting the Apollo 1240 to a 1260. but i have run into a bit of a problem a asked PG, via Private message,if he could contribute to this discussion but i have heard nothing. So i thought id post here to see if anybody can help with this conversation. Please have a look here http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=37307 to see how its going.

But the main question i have now is. My Apollo's have the 131 and 210mach chips already installed but the CPU does not work. my thoughts are that the CPU is faulty. I will be receiving two new CPU's in the post soon.

But even if i have these later mach chips do they need reprogramming with new code ? also my eprom versions are 5.600. I have the source code for the eproms and it looks like it will work with the 060 CPU from version 5.555 but i cant be sure. so any answers or comments ? you can post here but i would like to keep the other thread on the English Amiga board up to date so would appreciate it if you would post there. Not trying to nick users, just need the information for this to be come public knowledge.

PG if you do see this please respond.

Regards
Gary

@PG: are you able to convert Apollo 4040's to 060 aswell?
I can't afford it now, but perhaps in the future.

And where in Sweden are you located?
