Default fried keyboard matrix

Got a 4000 keyboard recently that seems to have some several burned traces throughout the plastic matrix. Anyone know a place that would have replacements? I have a feeling that since the traces are on the plastic/film repair is not an option... Any chance I can mod the keyboard controller to take a PS2 signal?

Thanks all!

Actually repair may be an option depending on the severity of the damage. I recently repaired an A600 keyboard plastic film by using a Conductive Pen and redrawing the lost track. It was only a few millimetres so it wasn't that drastic of a repair. You may be able to repair yours the same way. Might be worth a shot at least.

I wish I could do that, but from the number and length of the traces I would need robot reflexes. There are 3 spots on it where the traces are noticeably darker than the rest, with some residue on top. They probably spilled something that just ate it away...

When I test continuity between pads that go through the traces, nothing happens.

Besides conductive pen there are special keyboard repair kits (on ebay). Both are very expensive.
You need graphite or, even better ,liquid silver.

Just do not try graphite spray, its resistance is too high.

Hmm, if you're lucky maybe just cleaning off goo with some isopropyl alcohol would do.
For ps2 adapter try aminet, or my page

You can always make your own conductive ink: use a 6B graphite dust mixed with high-speed set tarnish (more graphite than tarnish).

Use a injection needle to "paint" the traces and you are done.

Went ahead and swapped it with my 500's matrix since I am mainly using the 4000 right now. Gives me time to try rkauer's suggestion. Thanks!
