Default I removed my kickstart roms.. which way do they go in?

Chip #1 says:
D9350
391523-01
ROM 0
V 3.0 (39.106)

Chip #2 says:
J9436
391524.01
V 3.0 39.106

..
Which chip goes at the top (nearer the ports) and which goes at the bottom?

And, are they aligned to the left or to the right?

Here you go for ROM install on an A1200:

Chip #1 goes to the socket U6A - Under

Chip #2 goes to the socket U6B - Over

Orientation of chips to board - If you look at your IC you will notice that at one end on the top you will see a half moon "D" that will designate the pin one end of the chip, and if you look at the board it will have a outline shape of the IC which also have the outline of the half moon just match them up.

Except for some revisions of the A3000, where the silk-screen printing was round the wrong way! D'oh! :-)

And if you look carefully on the board, you'll find an "pointer" telling you to put the ROM in the rightmost position of the socket!

This is valid for A1200, BTW.
