Default Strange Picasso IV trouble (2 boards)

I've got 2 PicassoIV boards here with some very strange symptoms that I've never seen or heard of before. Wondering if anyone has any more tricks I can try before they go off to France.

The first one is in a 4000D with a CSPPC/060, AriadneII, and Delfina Plus. The machine works fine with those boards plugged in, but as soon as I add the PIV, the entire Zorro bus goes down - the Expansion Board Diagnostic menu and ShowConfig can only detect the Cyberstorm. No RTG output, and the Picasso's scandoubler doesn't work either. I've already reseated everything, re-added boards one at a time. The battery was removed long ago, but not before some minor leaking which I've since cleaned up - there don't appear to be any of the usual battery damage symptoms.

The second one I haven't tried in a while, but the experience with the one in the 4000 today reminded me of it because it seems like a less-severe version of the same problem. This one's in a 3000T with a CSPPC and Hydra ethernet card. It seems to work only part of the time - maybe a 1-in-4 chance per boot? When it doesn't, it also fails to output anything on RTG or the scandoubler. I didn't think to check if the Hydra card was working, so I don't know if this one is affecting the whole bus.

There's been talk somewhat lately about replacing the bridge chip of the PIV. Any chance that would clear this up?

Thanks for any hints.

Which buster chips do you have?

Do you tried the Zorro-II compatibility jumper?

What version bridge chips do you have now?

Socketed Buster 11. No effect with forcing to ZorroII. Where's the identifier for the bridge chip?

I dont think you can find out if you cannot boot at all.

Have you tried different power supplies?

The system does boot, though. It just won't detect any of the Zorro cards installed.

Er, well, yeah. That's why I'm asking for help to try to figure out if they're off-to-be-repaired dead or if they're being-tricksy dead :-)

They've both been sitting in their respective machines for several years without being touched so I don't know what could have happened to them.

Well...
First of all, how good is your psu ?
Do you draw too much power for the old lady ?
You may need a 200w psu for such a config.

But you can also have a dying cms cap on the PIV that pull down the zorro line bus.
