The guy is a genius.

Check this vid out too (not quite as impressive as the first vid, but good nonetheless):

Does anyone here have a Nintendo Wii? Fancy trying the ideas out?

Wow, that is really a great job. It surely is getting the most out of the Wii hardware. The tracking looks very smooth, and the 3D illusion is phenomenal. That could really make some fantastic games.

HAH! One could already make fantastic games with the most primitive computers, with the most primitive controls. Fact is they just don't.
They just friggin' DON'T do it. There are so many talented programmers, so many creative ideas, but no, HALO 3 is all the way.
They even know how to mess things up despite the almost magical possibilities of the current Wii.
I still primarily play freeware games despite the fact that I have quite a couple of commercial games. I just wasted money on commercial games. Yes there were a couple of classics, like Thief. But still, plagiatry is still goin' strong, they have a lot of courage to ask money from that s**t.
They could have made such fantastic games, just look at sierra games, or a game like Pirates!, or Elite... there can be soooo much be done with a little creative and playful mind. And of course it can be sold well, you just have to put it in the picture, don't sell it in a computer store, just sell it in a supermarket, place a stand where ppl can try it out in a supermarket, then it comes in the picture and it'll sure sell as hell if it's good and not too expensive (like 10 euros, and only those who really do not have money will copy it).

gimme XMoto, Soldat, or this game anytime.

Fk me that's amazing! I wonder whether he put the test app on his web site so I can test this out with my Wii

@Oliver
I agree, could be used to make some fantastic games. Hopefully the games will be a little more polished than titles like Konami's Police 24/7:

@Speelgoedmannetje
Nobody is saying you can't make great games with less complex control schemes. I understand your point of view, but the main cause behind the dull gaming scene is consumers not taking a chance on something new when it comes along and buying sequel after sequel instead. I can't even blame game publishers for releasing the uninspired titles, they're the ones that sell the best (most of the time).

@motorollin
Software available here (Windows only I'm afraid):

Johnny Chung Lee mentioned this tech would be for one user only. However, if Sharp ever get this (http://tinyurl.com/2sfhr4) released, there would be a way of getting multiple players using one TV, using different color LEDs:

Maybe using this for sound:
