Default pcmcia Sram card
Does anyone know of a place that sells a pcmcia sram card that can be used in a A600 or A1200 for a reasonable price?

pcmcia ram is old, obsolete technology. like everything amiga, you can't find it at reasonable price.

That one above won't work as memory. Look for SRAM or PSRAM. Stay away from anything that says Flash.

One easy way to find SRAM - Look for the most expensive hideously small memory cards :-) You won't be far off.

I actually used a 1MB SRAM card in my A1200 for a while to store the OS on whilst loading programs on floppies. Got rather fed up of that system after a while and found myself a 2GB HDD.

PCMCIA SRAM is 16 bit only - it'll be dead slow on a 1200, esp. when accelerated.

Yeah, they work pretty well in the a600 though. I am giving my grandson a A600 but I do not want to give him the only memory card I have. I will have to see if I have another 630 laying around.
