Now I'm really confused... my LCD TV (element) doesn't display 15khz, or even 29hkz. I will not display DBLNTSC with VGAOnly installed. However: Now that I have it in productivity mode, it is displaying just fine. Now here's the weird part. If I turn on mode promotion in the IContol settings, other programs like JRComm, Lightwave, FASTJPEG_AGA, etc, will NOT display. The monitor complains that it is out of range. If I turn mode promotion back off, it will display those programs correctly but with some flicker...it's almost likeit's dropping down to 15khz!! What in the world is going on???
It will definately not display 15khz.. when I start the machine I see black. But for some reason it is still displaying these 15khz screen modes with mode promotion turned off. But when I turn it back on, nothing works. This is exactly opposite my LCD monitor (ACER-1714) which displays anything mode promoted to multiscan productivity mode correctly. Anyone have any idea what could be happening? This tells me there is some potential here... to make this monitor work. BTW, I made this post on my A1200 However it was incredibly painful.

With mode promotion you can define different screenmodes for each program. Are you sure the configured screenmodes are those you want?

I think it's because of firmware. When it's in VGA mode, I can select a 15khz screen and it will display it for a split second... then the cheap poorly programmed firmware which is trying to be helpful exclaims "Not Support!".
Argh. I found another clue... when VGAOnly is installed, the 15khz screens display ONLY if they are started from workbench (because VGAOnly is loaded). Without VGAOnly, the 15khz screens do not display and multiscan productivity mode does not work without VGAOnly installed either. When the 15khz screens appear (with VGAOnly loaded) my monitor says "Mode 480i". So why does the sync frequency drop slightly even when mode promotion is enabled in IControl? |

Look at the specs of the screenmodes - they are displayed in ScreenMode Prefs... Doubled or promoted modes are not necessarily exact doubles in frequency. The frequencies might not be "right" for the monitor and some monitors fail to display as a result. This is known to occur with some cheap (though that does not always mean nasty) and also some expensive monitors.
