Doctors Receptionists!

Because of a history of serious heart disease in my family, I recently had a Colesterol test. I was told that the results take a week to come back in. A week and a bit passed before I could finally go back in to collect them.

I went up to the receptionist and asked for my results, expecting to be given an envelope or a bit of paper with my results on. Instead, after the 3rd degree, she tapped something into her PC and said "Yeah, your results are in and Oooooh there're a bit high"

This wasn't said in a "bit high"-but-nothing-to-worry-about kind of way. This was "a bit high" like Base jumping is a "bit dangerous" Which was then followed up that there was a note for me to make an appointment for a "consultation".

I'd been mildly concerned about the whole thing up to this point, but now I was really worried. And I spent the whole week worrying about it.

I just got bad from said "consultation", turns out absolutely nothing wrong at all, my blood colesterol is just ever so slightly over what it should be, but well within the bounds of healthy. As I don't smoke, don't drink heavily, and eat tons of fresh veg (not so good with Fruit though), I'm completly fine, and don't even need another test for 2 years. I was told to try and lose a bit of the Xmas weight I'd put on, and given some leaflet about colesterol, that's it!

I hate doctor's receptionists!!!!

And bank clerks.

I went to the bank yesterday to transfer some cash from my savings to my main account and was given the third degree by the grumpiest clerk in the history of banking. Those familiar with "Little Britain" will appreciate the phrase "computer says no" delivered in a bored/disinterested stylee.

Worst of all have to be Milanese car assembly workers. My amusingly unreliable/expensive Alfa Romeo seems to have been built with the same standard of care and attention to detail as an ADHD sufferring 8 year old assembles an Airfix B-17.

not to mention loan officers.

i needed money a few years ago to put in a well to bring water into my house(been using a manual carry buckets in well before that). i had just taken a loan out of my 401k to finish off the loan i had with them and was going to get a new loan. as i talked to her she denied approval so i asked why. she told be i had been late on my payment twice on my previous loan. i told her she was incorrect i had not been late for at least one of them but i resigned myself that this was a lost cause so i asked when they would be stricken from the record. she replied never but try again later for a loan. i was a little pissed at this point and confronted herasking "if i was turned down for being late twice and never gets stricken from the record then i don't have a chance for a loan ever here so why ask me to try again later?" she didn't have an answer to that so i closed my account and started banking elsewhere.

I had OEMPCWorld tell me a few days ago that "Your computer is too old for these memory, I am cancelling your order. Amiga is very old 1990 computer and maximum memory is 9MB".

With a polite return mail they agreed to reinstate the order. I was one mail away from vile and ungentlemanly conduct.

Oh and careful when you talk about wells on Amiga.org, gets the trolls all excited!
