Default Blinking red power LED

Darn, not my Amiga too! Was happily playing with my A2000 tonight, because my PeeCee pooped out some time ago, when after a warm start the LED was blinking and the CDrom drive light kept going on and off. No boot up, no nothing. Am I cursed or what? Almost makes me believe I shouldn't use a computer. Any Advice from anyone would be "REALLY" appreciated. Regards...Art

The first thing I would do is unhook the CD drive and try to start the Amiga if that won't help try to boot off of one of the Amigas workbench flopy disc's.

Sounds like you're caught in a crash/reboot loop. Pop the lid and reseat all hardware/cables. Make sure the chips are firmly in place too.

Plus, keep black cats away from your computer.

First switch it off, wait some seconds and switch it on again (cold start).

If it still does not work, tell us which color the screen shows. The blinking power LED just means the computer has crashed. The screen color shows the reason. Here are the known reasons:

red - bad kickstart rom checksum (usually caused by bad soft-kick programs)
green - not enough chip ram
yellow - processor exception (usually a software problem)

Bye,
Thomas

Thank you all for your response's, it's going to be a day or so until I can take her apart and try those suggestions. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks, the suddeness of it was what really threw me, no symptoms or forewarning whatever. Best regards...Art

Don't forget the other color screens that can pop up. A grey screen (can be light or dark grey) - put it out of its missery - something serious and deep has happened.
A blue screen can happen, which means one of the custom chips is in trouble.
The red screen can be one of several problems - it can be a ROM error, or a bad card (press both mouse buttons to see what it says (if you're using OS 3->) on startup (boot menu)).

The only screen that happens is the "Rainbow" colors that flicker letting me know the Blizzard card is running, or at least I hope it is. Tomorrow's my off day, hope I can get into it and see if I can figure something out. Thanks to all again! Best regards...Art

Not strictly true.

I had dark/light grey screens on a cold boot many times on my A1200. One time it would be dark, the next day it could be light. Sometimes the A1200 would start up as normal then after so much usage it would just hang. After a reset it would have the grey screen. It turned out to be a psu problem.
