Default Video Toaster 4000 question . . .
Is the Video Toaster 4000 a video card by nowadays standards, or is it simply a capture card with lots of features? Also, which version of the VT 4000 is the best? I've seen about three different types.

Not too sure about the VT 4000, but the toaster for the a2000 was primarily used as a hardware video effects generator - so basically video processing (switching sources with wipes, etc) rather than capture. The VT flyer added non-linear editing through hd based capture further down the road. I'm not sure, but it may also have accellerated lightwave?

Here are some videos that demonstrate the capabilities of the toaster 2000 - both demos are at the end of the respective programs.
