A1200 hard disk cable
I've just taken out a 2.5" Seagate ST9100A hard disk out of an old small 486 box. It comes with a ribbon cable 5cm long with exactly the same number of pins as the back of the hard disk itself.
Could this cable be used to connect it to an A1200 internal IDE interface, as a friend of mine said he can vaguely remember having to snip one of the wires. I can't see why you would have to snip a pin off the cable in order for it to work. At the same time I don't want to blow it up. Will I need to purchase a special Amiga ribbon cable or are they the same as their PC counterparts? |
