Default What can you tell me about my DataFlyer?
I pulled this from my dead 2000.

I remember booting from it once, but I don't see a place for the Hard Drive SCSI ribbon to connect to the board. I only see an IDE port. I'm confused, did I loose a part to this or something?

If I remember correctly, there were 2 types of dataflyers, IDE and SCSI..

Not sure if it's old 8-bit IDE only or not...

They were either IDE or SCSI and I beleive a rare few were capable of both, but am not positve. I have the SCSI Dataflyer 500 without an IDE connector.

Yes, some had both IDE and SCSI. I don't have that one, but I do have the separate IDE and SCSI cards.

It looks like the SCSI connector is not populated, there is a label covering most of the word "SCSI" on the right of your picture.
It's not just a case of adding the connector though, you'd need to put in the SCSI chip as well.

From the board marking (5380) it would need one of these http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/dp5380.pdf

The green sticker next to "IDE" and no sticker next to "SCSI" or "SCSI & IDE" is another clue that your card is IDE only.

Weird... I swear I recall booting off that puppy before. I'll need to go home and have a second look at the drive that is mounted on it. Maybe it's IDE and my eyes are just playing tricks on me.

If it's IDE that should be a plus these days - with SCSI drives starting to get a bit scarce (and/or pricey).
