Amiga 2000 & Amiga 4000 with Video Toasters
I paid almost $ 20,000.00 for all of this equipment in 1994. It has been used very little. My work started to take over all my spare time and I just end up not using them anymore. The last time these were used was about 16 years ago. Everything worked perfectly at that time. I am the original sole owner and I have all of the receipts All of this equipment is in excellent shape. I have never had any type of problem with any of it. I purchased all of it brand new. For those unaware, the Video Toaster is a hardware board installed in the computer with rear connectors: 4 inputs and 2 outputs. It is made up of the following components. 4 Input Video Switcher Superimpose, mix, and transition between video sources. Chroma-FX Video Filters Use preset or your own custom filters to manipulate live video. Character Generator Very Hi-Res CG; Overlay text and graphics over live video, etc. 24 Bit Paint Program Create backgrounds, texture maps, graphic elements, etc. 3-D Modeler Create and edit quality 3-D models to be animated with Lightwave 3-D. Lightwave 3-D 24 Bit video & film quality animation system, used on many TV shows. The PAR (personal animation recorder) is a hardware board installed in the computer with genlock, and video in, out connectors. With its included software, it has the following features. Record animation frames automatically 1 at a time as rendered. Real time video capture with variable frame rate. Grab stills with the TBC IV (included) to create Stop Motion Animation. Sync audio to animations or video. Use as a source of simultaneous multiple video streams. Rotoscope captured video, animations, graphics, etc, into another animation, etc. Time lapse video recording. GPI interface for triggered playback. SMPTE triggered playback. Variable speed playback. Genlockable video outputs with variable timing. Video output formats Composite NTSC, S-VHS, Betacam, MII. Direct access to TBC IV control screen. Still store capacity of more than 24,000 frames or images (with included hard drive). Animation capacity of more than 12 1/2 minutes (with included hard drive). Studio-16 consists of a hardware board that installs inside of the computer with 5 connectors protruding out of the rear: 2 audio in, 2 audio out and SMPTE time code. With its included software, it has the following features. Read and write LTC SMPTE time code / Stripe tapes, control other components, etc. Record CD quality stereo audio direct to the hard drive; various sampling rates, etc. Play back up to 8 tracks of CD quality audio direct from your hard drive, simultaneously in real-time. Edit, duplicate, manipulate, mix, fade, pan, scale, etc, Any of your audio tracks. Sync audio to animations or video. IN ADDITION TO ALL OF THESE ITEMS, THERE IS A LOT MORE. Hundreds of blank floppys (mostly new 1.44 Mb, some 880K, some used) All the video toaster magazines You Could Want. All the Lightwave-Pro Magazines You Could Want. RS232 & Video & Audio & Serial & Parallel Switchboxes. RGB 4 Input Electronic Switchbox. Some More Misc. Software. Audio & Video Cables (lots & lots!). This is a complete system so please understand that I do not wish to break it apart & sell it separately. I am asking $1500.00 OBO For example, The SONY SLV-R5UC SVHS Editing VCR ALONE was worth $1500.00 on sale for $979.99 when I bought it. It is like brand new. Not a single scratch. This is truely an incredible deal. You're going to get so much stuff, you won't know what to do with it all. There is an incredible amount to pack. All the software still has all the original packaging. This is all original vintage Amiga. Anyway, that's it. I am asking $1500.00 OBO The buyer must pay for shipping. Naturally, the closer you live to Los Angeles, CA, USA, the less shipping will be. I finally decided to sell them. So I had a little time today & thought I'd post them for sale. I'm sorry, but I have not had time to take pictures of everything, but I plan to when I get a chance. Thank you. |

To interject a little reality into this.... First, how does it all work now.
I hate to tell you this, but your can't expect to get anywhere near what you paid for this equipment. Expect quite a loss from your original investment! I do hope you find it all a good home though. Best of luck. |

When I read the title of this thread I thought somebody had uncovered a stash of about 50 A4000's in a storeroom somewhere.
I don't think depreciation was taken into account somehow. |

I would really like to buy the IMAGE-FX VIDEO TUTORIAL VOL. 1-3 Videotape for IMAGE-FX 2.1.
I will even pay the original price to you of $59.95 if it is the Catalyzer set of videos. (Note: If ANYONE has the Catalyzer set of videos, I'd be interested in buying them) Last edited by ral-clan; 04-26-2012 at 05:29 PM.. |

Hi all. Thank you for all your feedback. I really do appreciate it.
Yes, that was my first post. I do realize that no one knows me here. I understand that. I do intend to take some pictures real soon & get them up here. They're not going to be real pretty pictures because I'm going to just take the pictures as they are still in place. I know some people who are selling something go to a lot of time & effort to take all kinds of pics & write a really good blurb. I apologize for not doing that. I'm just a really busy guy. Anyway, this is a real deal. I'm not trying to rip anyone off. I just don't want these anymore. I should have sold them a long long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away) when I first realized which direction I was going in. When they were worth more. I guess that I should apologize for not being active in the Amiga world anymore. BUT, when you need to do 3D modeling, CAD, Animation, Rendering, CNC machine code generation, Electronics simulation, PIC chip programming, etc., how can you even come close to a 3.8 GHz 8 core i7? Yes, I guess I'm a 'traitor' now. But I'm a Propmaker for the Motion Picture Industry and my work requires me to be able to interact with the rest of the Intel-chip-based world, and, until very recently at least, Amigas can't. And when was the last time anyone saw Rhino, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Modo, Zbrush, 3DS Max, Maya, etc, etc. ported over to run on a real Amiga? Don't get me wrong, I really thought the Amiga was something back when I bought them. I mean, that's why I went out and spent $20,000.00 on them! BUT, does everyone remember when Intel developed the Pentium & AMD developed similar technologies that basically left the Amiga sucking their exhaust as they watched the Amiga disappear in their rear view mirrors? I just couldn't wait around for the Amiga to catch up. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is. Work came first. So now I have a room filled with Amiga stuff that I don't want anymore. In fact, I have not been able to use that room for anything else for all this time. Dumb Huh. Hey, I'll admit that. So anyway, I finally decided that I am going to get rid of all this stuff. Soon. Real soon. If I can't sell it, I'll donate it somewhere locally for a tax writeoff, or, as a last resort, throw them in a dumpster and be done with it. Blasphemy! Sinner! What do you mean? Throw them away!? I'll tell you right now; I do not intend to spend a lot of time trying to get rid of them. I just don't have the time or energy to devote to a big selling campaign. I'm a busy guy. I see that someone mentioned about checking the battery area on the motherboard. I assume that they are concerned about corrosion. I didn't think about that. However, I am not going to do anything to them. I can't even remember how to use them anymore! I haven't turned them on for about 16 years! They have been left plugged in for all that time though. I make my own PCBs & I do custom electronics for movie sfx. So, if there is a small amount of damage due to corrosion, it probably should not be that hard to repair, even for a normal person handy with a soldering station. They worked before, they should work now. I would like to be able to unload these in 1 sale. I don't have the time to spend trying to part them out. Someone else who has more time to spare than me could buy them & resell them separately. I'll bet they would be able to charge a fair price & still make a real nice profit! That editing VCR is a prosumer VCR. That's the best one there is before you get into the professional line of VCRs. It was a $1500 VCR on sale for $979! That VCR was used for 1 project (about 25 hrs worth of editing)! The most you might have to do to it is replace a couple of belts. So, if you feel like taking a small chance, here it is. The first $1200 gets them. That's 6 cents on the dollar. And the buyer pays for all the shipping & insurance costs. If I can't sell them I'll find some other way to get rid of them. Think about it. I'll get some pictures up here real soon (maybe tonight). So check back please. Thank you all. |

Yeah; now scroll down to the bottom of the post where he's asking $1500 for the whole shebang. The MSRP on that stuff was $20k when it was new. He's asking for 8% of that.
