Default Installing OS4.1 Update 3

Hi,

Well, I finally got around to it; I have downloaded and installed Update 3 on the A1.

There has been a lot of discussion about problems and issues, so I was planning to go through it in some detail, trying to address each one.

However, I can honestly say that it gave me no trouble at all. Rather than repeat myself, you can read what little there is to read here:

Been playing around with it since, not experienced any trouble at all so far.

Verdict: painless.

Just lucky, I guess...

Also worth noting, my A1 didn't explode, implode or otherwise belch out the magic blue smoke yet.

@Karlos

Is OS4 fun to use?
Are there a lot of OS4 games?
Do rely heavily on OS3.X and other legacy software?
How do you like using OS4?
Do you use it everyday and for surfing the web?
Did you install MUIOWB? If so do you like it and use it everyday?

I want to get a SAM460ex system but I guess I'll wait to see what ACube's big TOP Secret deal is first. I wonder if AmigaKit will offer whatever ACube's TOP SECRET deal is.

Thanks for any reply!

Rog...........

I'm probably not the best guy to ask.

Well, naturally I find it fun to use, but I find anything Amiga fun to tinker with. I won't lie and say that my OS4 machines are my main everyday rigs, they're not. They are what I use when I want to actually have some fun rather than do work. I use them for development and getting my Amiga fix, along with classic machines. I pretty much enjoy using them to do stuff just for the sake of it. Not the sanest rationale, I guess, but that's what hobbies are.

I've only just downloaded MUI-OWB. Given the maturity of this browser on MorphOS, I'm expecting it to be a good experience.

I'd like to know what it performs like on your BPPC once you've installed the update.

For everyday stuff and work I use linux. Unless I really fancy a spot of gaming, in which case I may sink to booting Windows for a few hours

However, my Amigas get almost daily use, even if it's only for a short time.
