In Luciferin distribution, there's a module called NoNCRScsi. I wonder if it can be used to inhibit SCSI drives search on A3000 if there are no SCSI drives in the system?

I don't think so. A3000 has WD SCSI, not NCR (like A4091, A4000T).

Any chance of disabling 3000's WD controller then? Something like NoIDE, but for SCSI.
Or perhaps one could assemble a custom KS without SCSI module(s)? |

Since NoIDE disables scsi.device maybe it's possible to use it.

If scsi.device is the problem then why not just delete it?

Thing is, I've never had any experience with putting KS in flash. |

If you are building your own ROM then you should get this...
http://aminet.net/search?query=SCSI4345p This patches some bugs in the SCSI and IDE devices but also has versions that disable the devices during bootup (faster). The funny thing is that Chris Hodges is the first author listed in the readme. Hi Chris! You do need AmigaOS 3.9 BB2 though. The device can also be left out of the ROM with no problems if you don't want it at all. If building your own ROMs I would also recommend... http://amikit.amiga.sk/patches.htm http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/beta/ http://aminet.net/search?query=Blizkick.lha |

Thanks Matthey,
Definitely will check these links. While I am sticking with 3.1 for now, I might want to look at 3.9 some day. |
