Default Yet another A2000 exploration thread

I brought up today the A2000 that I had swapped for an Atari STe. I had a Super Denise and Buddha IDE controller waiting.

I popped the case and had a quick look around. The mobo was rev. 6 and it had 3.1 ROMs. I pulled the old Denise out and pushed the Super Denise in. Then the Buddha and 1.2 GB Seagate. Then I powered it up. And - no picture. I could hear th HD spin but nothing else.

I disassembled the HD cradle to have another look at the Denise. One of the pins wasn't in socket and it was bent. I pulled the Denise out, straghtened the pin and pushed it back in. Et voila! We have workbench screen.

The battery has been changed but it needs to be changed again. Installing the OS was pretty straightforward and it boots nicely from HD.

I did get a few green and yellow screens at startup but nothing permanent. I may have to give the socketed chips a push.

A few questions though. Are there HD led pins in the Buddha?

How does the mobo power lead come off?

The case is missing its screws, what size are they?

Edit: Paragraphs added.
