Hi Wayne
Any plans to upgrade to the latest version of XOOPS for the site? Cheers Chris |

There is no upgrade path from what we're running to the current path, plus the newest version isn't backwards compatible with the old Amiga browsers.
We tried at one point long ago to move forward but had to revert back to this. It was a nightmare as most will recall. Wayne |

The problem isn't putting up new software, it's migrating all the old data/accounts/comments/posts/etc to it. There is no existing software which will do that unfortunately, though I have considered getting rid of all the other stuff and just moving to vBulletin. Meaning Amiga.org would be reduced to a -- very usable -- forum only type site.

Which version of xoops is currently running?
Also, has there been done any hacks/customizations to either the php code or the db-schema? I know xoops well, and I know my way around PHP code. I could look into making a migration script for the data, and also an Amiga IBrowse compatible theme for the newest xoops. I cannot work towards a deadline, but I can look into it. I don´t need access, only version info. And any particular configurations that apply (db type, php version and such). |

As one of A.org's highest bandwidth wasters... I am more than happy with the current software. I say NO CHANGE :-D
