Default Mediator/Power problem

I'm having a bad problem with my primary A4000 and was wondering if anyone might be able to assist. Its a A4000D housed in a Mirage Pro tower with a Mediator 4000. The problem is the system will not stay powered on for more than a second or two. I've removed every component, one by one and I have isolated the problem to the mediator bus board. 95% sure. Only other possibility is the AT/ATX power converter PCB that comes installed in the mirage. Its not the Mediator bridge card itself, but the card which actually has the PCI and zorro slots. I power the system on, I see the green lights and fans spin up for maybe 2 seconds, then... zap! It just shuts itself off. Once out of 15 attempts, the system actually stays on long enough for the HDs to spin up (about 10-25 seconds), but once again just shuts itself off. Troubleshooting the problem, the power stayed on in every scenario except when I plugged in that Elbox daughtercard. Has anyone else experienced problems with this card or had any similar issues with the mirage tower system? Thanks in advance for any help!

Is that a Di mediator or a Towerversion?
It sure sounds like a short somewhere.
Are you sure there is nothing in the connector for the mediator?
Like a short piece off wire?
Try with a original daughterboard.
Reseat the mediator a few times.

Its the tower version. Thats what I think it is, too. I've had the thing apart twice now, shook it upside down. Can't find any little pieces of wire anywhere. Do you happen to know of any test points on that card where I can check for proper voltage, or shorts to ground where there should be a voltage?

Its pretty crowded inside the mirage case if you have more than two drives and CD ROM and DVD, etc... Maybe one of the power lines got scraped or something when I was trying to cram everything in?
