Default A1200 and NET configuration...

Hello!

I've just got an Etherlink III PCMCIA card from an eBay user.
I'm using the "3c589.device" driver and seems to be recognized from my Amga 1200.

I've set up Genesis but something goes wrong. As I said, my A1200 recognizes the PCMCIA card but I can't share my internet connection with Amiga. I use a DSL router (D-LINK DSL-504T).

When I click on "Online" button from Genesis, the status led becomes green as the router led. But the Amiga can't recognize any Internet connection. In addition, I can't open the router configuration page (http based) from Amiga and, if I open it from my Mac, I can't see the Amiga into the DHCP cliens.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Alex

IIRC Genesis can´t cope with DHCP.

Otherwise, see this guide on how to setup Miami instead.

Just stick in a static ip address fro the amiga and it'll all work.

I can't believe... IT WORKS!!!
I've just used MiamiDX instead Genesis... GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!

I'm so moved... :') my beloved Amiga can surf the web :-D

Ok... well... two last questions about Miami. The first, how can I register it?
Is it still supported? And, how can I save my configuration? i've noticed that every time I close the program, it losts everything.

THANKS AGAIN!
Alex

Glad it works. As for the regging, there is no chance :-( All you can do is to find one that wants to sell their keyfiles (3 in total).

Nope, and nope. The author quit the amiga scene several years ago.

As someone else said above, try AmiTCP/Genesis again with a static IP address that's out of the range your router reserves for DHCP.
