Default Amithlon doesn't boot...
I tried to boot Amithlon from CD-ROM. But it doesn't even show me the "boing ball screen". The screen is just black and my keyboard LEDs start blinkin'. Here's my hardware config.:

ASUS A7N8X (nForce 2)
AMD Athlon XP (2 GHz)
768 MB RAM
40 GB & 120 GB HD
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (8x AGP)
1x DVD-ROM, 1x CDRW
Debian GNU/Linux (sarge)

Can anyone help me please?

The same thing happened when I tried my mates Amithlon CD on my new Athlon64...

Amithlon is getting fairly "long in the tooth" -- my guess is that it doesn't support your hardware.

There is an updated kernal that supports the nForce 2 chipset, but I don't think you'll do any better than Vesa mode on that video card.

hmm...i've got some tnt2 card somewhere...maybe it'll work when the radeon has been replaced with the tnt...thanks for your help

btw. is there any linux-based tool which i could use to split an ntfs or ext2 partition without data-loss? because i want to install amithlon on my hd if it works with the tnt card...

Have a look around for GParted or QTParted.

Thanks again

But still Amithlon keeps me struggling...everything just installed the way it should. The tnt works well with 1280x1024. But now Amithlon is unable to establish a lan-connection via Genesis. It says: card reset failed!

Any idea how to fix that?

What ethernet card are you using? The onboard nforce?

Get yourself a cheap rtl8139 compatible card and use the OpenPCI drivers.
