Of course, Linux advocates will say that I'm giving up too early, that there are probably solutions out there that I didn't find. It might be true. Certainly, I could tweak the GIMP's keyboard shortcuts to be more to my liking - but without that precious context-sensitivity, I'd still have to have a separate key to delete a path than I would to delete image data, and other similar-but-separate tasks would quickly exhaust my options.

Why do I keep doing this to myself? Why!?
I have been trying, for some seven years now, to get into this technically advanced and totally impressive and Free new operating system, without success. I made my first real attempt in 2004, when I installed Fedora Core 4 on my then-laptop, a cheapo Presario that stole 1/8th of my RAM and God knows how much of my memory bandwidth for the video.
I fiddled around with it for a while but never accomplished much and didn't enjoy it....

So here's how it is: the tablet is not as good at being a smartphone as a smartphone. It's also not as good at being a laptop as a laptop. In fact, it basically offers the worst of both worlds: the phone's limited software selection, limited and more expensive hardware, lack of a keyboard, and cut-down UI, plus the laptop's increased size and need for a separate...

Do you remember the Abdomenizer? A revolutionary new fitness system so simple you couldn't not understand how to use it, the perfect tool to make sit-ups simple, so simple you could perform them while doing something else, fitness for the on-the-go! Clearly this was a hot new item; after all, there was an infomercial (like the Thighmaster's, it starred an attractive lady,) clearly demonstrating how simple it made things, and they were selling millions of them! (1.5 million by order, 2 million in...

You know what, it's been a while since I ranted about things in the Amiga community that annoy me, and this has been eating at me for a while, but with the latest news concerning *ahem* a certain remarkably-priced custom board, this has been coming up a lot: the "can't beat 'em, join 'em" argument.
The version I've seen, specifically, goes like so: "PowerPC is a dead architecture and can never hope to compete with x86 for performance, therefore all PowerPC-based Amigoid...
