Amiga 500 and Amiga 3000 capacitor replacement list

Hi, I've compiled a list of the capacitors that can be and sometimes should be replaced in both Amiga 500 and Amiga 3000, for my own needs, I'm sharing it here hoping that someone else might find it useful. All information is taken from the Service Manuals of the A500/A3000 respectively. All caps but only a few are "ELEC RAD" (Polarized Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors). The "ELEC AXL" (Polarized Axial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors) are on the A3000 daughterboard. All measurements are ca. in millimetres.

(a) Some say these ones should be changed to a Bi-Polar Capacitor but the original is not.

I've successfully substituded these in my A500 with the following caps from Panasonic:
-----------------------------------------------------
QTY..Cap.....Volt...HxøD.....Model
-----------------------------------------------------
2....10µF....50VDC..11x5mm...PANASONIC ECA1HM100
4....22µF....50VDC..11x5mm...PANASONIC ECA1HM220
2....47µF....50VDC..11x6mm...PANASONIC ECA1HM470
6....100µF...50VDC..11x8mm...PANASONIC EEUFR1H101
1....470µF...25VDC..12x10mm..PANASONIC EEUFR1E471
2....3300µF..25VDC..25x16mm..PANASONIC EEUFR1E332
-----------------------------------------------------
Voltages are not the same as the originals, which I've done by purpose. They are more reliable but a little more expensive.
(b) Print on the PCB looks like "173" and can be misstaken for the real 173.
(c) Can be hard to se what goes where by the printing on the PCB for these, looking at the PCB from the front (battery to the left, kickstarts to the right) they are placed like this:
.---------.
|C416|C404|
|----|----|
|C407|....|
.---------.

A3000 Daughterboard: "= COMMODORE A3000 DAUGHTER BD REV 7/01 A/W 313253 FAB 313252 COPYRIGHT 1989 COMMODORE AMIGA INC. GX B-VO 91 38":
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PCB#..Cap....Volt...HxøD....Orinal caps................C= Ass. #..Type......Notes
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C751..22µF...35VDC..11x5mm..ELNA RE2 CE85°C 9135.......390101-04..ELEC RAD..(d)
C600..220µF..16VDC..16x8mm..NICHICON SE(M) 85°C N9138..900101-47..ELEC AXL
C601..220µF..16VDC..16x8mm..NICHICON SE(M) 85°C N9138..900101-47..ELEC AXL
C602..220µF..16VDC..16x8mm..NICHICON SE(M) 85°C N9138..900101-47..ELEC AXL
C603..220µF..16VDC..16x8mm..NICHICON SE(M) 85°C N9138..900101-47..ELEC AXL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(d) In the Service Manual this reads as 22µF/16VDC but it is not what is mounted on my DB. Also, the C= Ass. # is the same # as in the MB-list for 22µF/35VDC, probably a misprint and should be 22µF/35VDC.

I have not yet replaced caps on my A3000 but I've ordered the following:
-------------------------------------------------
QTY..Cap....Volt...HxøD.....Model
-------------------------------------------------
15...47µF...50VDC..11x6mm...PANASONIC ECA1HHG470
1....100µF..50VDC..11x8mm...PANASONIC EEUFR1H101
7....470µF..25VDC..12x10mm..PANASONIC ECA1EHG471
8....22µF...50VDC..11x5mm...PANASONIC ECA1HHG220
2....4.7µF..50VDC..11x5mm...PANASONIC ECA1HHG4R7
4....220µF..25VDC..18x10mm..VISHAY 222203136221
-------------------------------------------------

Please comment if you see anything wrong or have thoughts about this.
It's a mess trying to make straight columns in a forum as it do not make use of tabs or extra spaces.

Came across this eBay listing. Yes, it's a mostly-destroyed keyboard, but what's interesting is that it has a Commodore key instead of a Left Amiga key. And it's not one of the Model A keyboards with the smaller Function keys. I've seen them in schematics, but I didn't know any keyboards like this ever made it to manufacturing...

Hi! I am new to big-box Amiga, I need to upgrade my A3000D with more fast memory. It now has 2MB chip, 4MB fast as ZIP (Static Column Mode) and additionally 4MB of fast as DIP (Page Mode). As I understand it removing the DIPs and filling the ZIP RAM-slots up to 16MB SC would be the best way next to buying a CPU-accelerator card. Vesalia Online sells these "ZIP RAM HYB511000BZ-7 (Set of 4)" - are they Static Column Mode or Page Mode 1MX4? They don't reply on emails :/ As I understand it the general rule is that if the number ends on 00 it's PM, and if 02 it's SC, which in this case then would calculate to PM. SM would be the fastest ones for A3000, right?

Hi !
I have just bought an used Amiga 500. I was a happy user back in the mid 90's, and wanted to play Sensible soccer again Starting up and setting cables etc. went fine, but when I inserted the floppy disc I felt that it took long time to load. After 2-3 minutes I took out the disc, while it was still running in the discdrive. I restarted the computer, but unfortuanetely the tv-screen was now yellow, and the power LED is constant blinking. I have triet to restart by pressing Ctrl+the two amiga buttons, and turning the power supply off/on, but nothing happens. Can anyone help me with this problem ?

Is it possible to have the PCMCIA socket working under kickstart 1.3 on an Amiga 600.....either through a stock kickstart 1.3, custom burnt kickstart...or perhaps by having pcmcia.device (or whatever it is) loaded from floppy/hard drive on boot up?

Anybody done it or can advice how? :)

Hi,
I'm trying to kick 3.1 on my Amiga 4000 but most of the times end up in issues. If i start the computer cold it mostly works, it kicks 3.1 and reboots and WB loads. But after some time things start to crash and when i try to reboot it just crashes on the way (Wb never loads) and it's stuck in a inifity loop.

I'm not sure if there is a issue with the 3640 and MMU or other hardware stability issues. The amiga is a stock 4000 with an AriadneII, Picasso IV and GPV SCSI card.

I have tried cybermap and blizkick with the same results.

Any ideas about what could be wrong?
