Where did Wayne go? (ergo, Wayne's new Web site)
I've never been quite sure where the appropriate place was to post this but here seems as good a place as any.
I would just like to thank you for being the man who started and conceived this wonderful site called Amiga.org.
Due to my own silly stubbornness and not willing to embrace the internet until this summer when I finally gave in and had a go at it, I realize now just what I've missed for all the years this fantastic site had to offer.
In my short time here I can honestly say that I've not had so much fun in many a long year in interacting with the Amiga community. I know you no longer run the site for personal reasons but would just like to say thank you very much for bringing this great site to all Amiga users and giving us a place to debate, argue and most importantly have a laugh and share our dreams and memories for the greatest computer ever invented.
I notice you still keep an eye on your flock and it's kind of reassuring that the father of Amiga.org still watches over with obvious interest the Amiga community.
Thank you sir, you are a obviously a visionary and a genius and a man who had a dream that he made come true... :)
Cheers... :drink:

Where did Wayne go? (ergo, Wayne's new Web site)
One of the big things that I wanted in order to sell the site was literally a continuation of "what was". I believe that the new owners have every intent to not only continue the traditions here, but to improve the site to better serve the community.
It'll be a while before I go anywhere, but I can now focus more on finding a job and my other site(s) such as segwayne.com

All the best to you, sir!
*raises tea mug*
It's going to seem pretty weird not having you as the site boss any more, though. I mean, after all this time, people know exactly where they stand. Hopefully the new owners' house rules won't be much different

The future of Amiga.org
Wayne, it's sad that you want to let it go, but I fully understand your motive. Good luck with the sale and I hope it's bought by someone who will dedicate at least a small percentage of the time you have dedicated to it.Posted 08-20-2009 at 03:39 PM by Bezzen

The future of Amiga.org
One more thing. I see the "everything should be free" argument creeping in the main thread. Take it with a grain of salt, the thread might get nasty.
Trust me, I know...Posted 08-19-2009 at 09:02 PM by redrumloa

The future of Amiga.org
Good Luck!
Hey, Wayne. I was shocked when I read this, but like redrumloa, I also understand that you feel it's time to move on. Good luck to you, and keep in touch!

The future of Amiga.org
Wayne,
I am saddened, but I fully understand where you are coming from. I only hope who ever buys the site will run it with the same dedication.Posted 08-19-2009 at 08:47 AM by redrumloa

Found a 3000 in the garage...
It`d be great to have A3000s lying about. Shame it`s probably wrecked.Posted 08-11-2009 at 11:46 AM by Tension

From RAM to Jag, to Mazda P'up to the garage in one easy step
Man that sounds terrible.
I hope you get it fixed soon and also hope it will be your last problem with it.
I remember borrowing someone's car once and the clutch suddenly died on me in the middle of a busy junction.
These things always have a knack of choosing a bleeping raining and windy to happen.

From RAM to Jag, to Mazda P'up to the garage in one easy step
I am actually regretting the choice to go ahead and buy the truck at this point, but still think that it'll be more reliable than the Jag would have been. Who knows though, Mazda, Jag are both Fords.Posted 08-06-2009 at 02:52 PM by Wayne

Ok, so I'm officially Diabetic. Now what?
I have a couple of friends with the same thing. One guy has had the same type as you for about 12 years. He still bitches about not being to eat fried food - but he get along rather well. Just watch your diet very carefully, and you'll be OK.Posted 07-03-2009 at 02:20 PM by motrucker

So what the he(( just happened?
Smooth transition
The transfer was quite seemless with a minimum amount of downtime. Well done to all involved.
Hopefully you will be fine on HostGator. The bandwidth and HDD space gained through consolidating into a reseller package will definitely give you some breathing space.
The economy of the move just makes sense.
I already have a reseller account with a UK based host and am considering moving to a dedicated server on another host.
Hopefully my transfer will also go as smoothly. I might email you at some point in the future for tips or advice on what to watch out for during the transition.
Amihost.net sounds interesting.
Being a web host is one step up from webmaster. Just as an experiment create a hosting account and suspend it for non-payment of fees.
Feel the power!!

Seriously though, keep up the good work.Posted 06-26-2009 at 06:09 AM by GadgetMaster
