Yeah, The Amiga is saved ! But at what cost to our soul !
As an avid Amiga fan without portfolio, my inner childish smile got a good ole, kick in the bootie with the news of the X1k but through all that jazz was it smoke and mirrors or the rebirth of a champion. Time certainly will tell.
But for now, as the mist clears out of the fuzz, I call a brain, the honest truth be told, I don't really know if a new Amiga is worth all the heaps of praise and equally scorn and dismay.
What I can certainly read within the hearts and minds of the many true folks of what is laughingly called at times a community, is lots of hysteria and forgive the use of a profanity, plenty of bull**** on many levels.
The one thing we know for certain that the new Amiga is called X1000 and its almost certainly a PPC derivative, but that has raised many more questions that are equally bounded with over-excitement and credulity, all the same.
It has even brought to the table people who haven't posted on the Amiga.org forum for years to either exalt the new messiah or call it a spade. Yet I see amongst them, without doubt the worst kind of crime against the community, being spouted as bold as brass in many a forum post and it isn't pretty, nor fair nor worthy of a group that has aspirations for any Amiga in any shape or form.
Jealously with extreme judgemental-ism, bordering on fanatical denial of the community for which the Amiga is held in such high status.
If I wasn't mistaken many people not only do not care about the Amiga, but sit in judgement for reasons I can only describe as selfish pride and with some with the need to preserve what stake they have in ensuring that no new Amiga, any new OS or anything that resembles a device that we all could call "Our Amiga" ever has a chance at all.
Why this strangle straggle of bedfellows wish to extinguish any sign of a return, can only be described as "Fan-boy with Attitude" and although I value their input, why don't they go back to where they have been living for the last few years and get your sorry asses out of peddling negativity at the even the slightest hope of a new Amiga.
I maybe a Amiga Fan but I am a Linux/Windows, you name it fan too, the journey is why I am here, not to feed my need to peddle hatred, negativity and point scoring to prove how clever you all are.
If you want to knock it, try the dam thing first or get out and leave my soul to enjoy the moment. !
