I want this blog to capture most of the things I learn and experience on the machine and on related topics (such as my classic HW). The tone should remain personal and I plan on updating at least once a week.

My initial reason for writing this blog was documenting my return to Amiga. I feel now I reached a point as a AmigaOS4 user, where my experiences are based on enough prior knowledge that a beginner, or somebody who just came back to the platform, wouldn´t be able to follow my casual Amiga chatter.

Consequently I stop writing this blog now and will go back to posting my current thoughts on my own website in german.

Right now it seems that I can do about everything on my Amiga:
  • Watch DVDs: DVPlayer
  • Watch Youtube,etc: GetVideo & Mplayer
  • Subscribe to and create podcasts: Amipodder and HDrec
  • Working with pictures: many, many programs
  • Video editing, composing, rendering: Blender
  • Writing and printing: AmigaWriter, AbiWord, Pagestream and Postscript laserprinter
  • Coding: the SDK and Hollywood
  • Presentation, database, spreadsheet, calendar: Designer, QuickFile, Turbocalc, AOrganzier
  • Networking: PeteFTP, OWB, AmiTwitter, TImberwolf

And that is far from a complete list! It is far more than I expected to find, when I bought my SAM and I certainly will continue to use this platform for many years to come.

The Amiga - born a champion!

When you put it like that it all sounds rather usable.
