Because that's what it feels like using a Playstation3 to use the internet. Let's go back to the beginning. Yesterday i thought it would be really cool to set up a dual boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10. I even went out and bought an external harddrive to backup just for the occasion

So i'm all ready with my data backed up and have my burnt Ubuntu image disk on hand. I am ready. So i began the process. I inserted the Ubuntu disc and sat back and relaxed. Everything went like a dream until i got to the very end of the setup. All i had to do was choose a username and password and i was done. The frikken thing froze up. I let it sit there for 30 minutes plus, hoping it would just startup again, but nothing. I had no choice but to hard shutdown. So i tried again but this time i installed it after i had chosen to "try it first", you know install from within? That has always worked in the past. Nope the same thing happened. So i go into Windows only to discover my harddisk is splitup into like 10 different partitons with no Ubuntu installed. I cant remember what i did next but all the partitions caved in and my harddisk crashed. It was so corrupted i couldn't even get into BIOS on startup. Now this is a problem because my laptop is el cheapo which means it didn't come with a Windows disk and don't know anyone whom i can get one from (easter holidays). I had no choice but to take it into the local pc store so the guy could fix it for me. So annoying. Even more annoying was when he tells me he won't install Ubuntu and will only install Vista "because that's what the laptop is licensed for". BASTARD!

He also told me i will have to wait until next week to pick it up because he's busy and he will charge me $75 for a crap vista reinstall. Double BASTARD! So now i'm stuck using a PS3 for internet until next week while i wait for the thing to come back. Thankyou Ubuntu for ruining my life

I'm not sure if i will try again. I think i'm too scared to

How can something so simple turn into such a nightmare?

    Problem solved

OK i got it working. I took the bucket apart and had a good look thinking maybe i could install Ubuntu on my empty external hd at the same time taking out my internal. Upon inspection i found the reason for the partition collapse was not trying to setup a dual boot but was because of all the coffee inside my harddrive making it stick.

God linux makes life hard for you. How was i supposed to figure that out?

A good os will give you an error message but not linux. linux will just put coffee in your harddrive and expect you to figure it out. Bloody linux

As a reply to the original question, no. However, the thin latex surgical gloves, that's a different matter.
