I want this blog to capture most of the things I learn and experience on the machine and on related topics (such as my classic HW). The tone should remain personal and I plan on updating at least once a week.

Today I got an HP Postscript laser printer from eBay. After setting up lpr.device and assigning an IP-address to the printer it all seems to work great, except that AmiPDF and Pagestream seem to have different meters: AmiPDF printouts are about 10% smaller than the preview in Pagestream. Oh and AbiWrite from AmiCygnix will for some reason prefer to print in 150 DPI (which looks funky).
But apart from these small disturbances the printouts look really great and it didn´t take me long to set it up.
I can highly recommend this combination. Oh, and it is called LaserJet 4000TN (TN = Tomato and Nachos of course).

Can you explain how you configured? For too long I thought about doing it, just do not know how.Posted 05-15-2010 at 07:17 AM by merlin3d
