View Full Version : If God was real, what would it look like?

Hmm, maybe it'd be an all seeing eye. Kinda like Sauron in the LoTR movies, but white and grey instead of flame, and on a tower of ethereal matter! :-o

I think JonoPike has been mulling over the meaning of life recently...

From what I know, wasn't man made out of god's image?

But if you go by other religions (especially ancient ones), the gods (yes, there wasn't just one god in one religion, in some cases there were many) were either human, animal or a combination of both :-)

What do I think god looks like? Well, I don't believe in god :-P

I figured it out when I was real drunk at a holiday and I was almost bitten to death by flies, and then I saw a spider spinning a web. :-)

God has to be a spider.

God has to be a spider.

For which reason - God is a predatory type, or compassionate for getting rid of the flies for you? :-)

Maybe God can only be merciful to the important minority by being ruthless toan insignificant majority :-P

Well, the soft silky web wich catch these buggers, the sharp claws to avenge my suffering, the eternal suffering of these buggers (these buggers SUFFER for a long time, they aren't dead yet when they're catched)

gee, it looks like I am talking about the God of the Old Testament.

It does a bit :-)

That's probably the main thing I don't get about the Bible, apparently God is infallible/perfect, yet the Old Testament definitely shows God not to be.

Yes, why should God be revengefull on his own creation?

We're made equally to his appearance according to the bible (spoken about arrogance...), so God really must hate himself.

maybe the bible shows us a choice:
the New Testament (be a good guy)
and the Old Testament (be a bad guy)

The meaning of that is open to a variety of interpretation. In God's image I suspect is more a reflection on our ability to reason, think in the abstract and generally be able to react contrary to basic animal instinct (unless seriously trollied) etc.

Personally I don't think God would appear remotely like anything in the universe we are familiar with. That's based on the assumption that if God created the universe and everything in it, then God must exist (or be capable of existing) in some other plane of existance outside common space time. So a white bearded feller doesn't fit the bill for me ;-)

I donīt belive in that monotheistic omnipresent, omniscient allmighty one and only God.
But if we are talking the Creator then probably looks like a model railway enthusiast, carrying lots of little screwdrivers and other tools in his shirtpocket and having reading glasses and mumbles a lot:-)

And why the world is in the state it is?
Well you know how it is, itīs never finished there is always room for improvement. And you know how one jumps from one project to another.
