For Non-Believers:

What kind of miracle/act of God/occurence of nature would make you believe in, and worship a God?

For Believers:

What miracle/act of God/occurence of nature made you believe in, and worship a God?

You could also ask what event/occurance caused a person to lose their faith.

I think your questions assume that Believers were all convinced by a specific thing, where I'd anticipate it's probably a mixture of reasons for most people.

Either of these:

1) Seeing someone being reincarnated (with my own eyes).

2) Seeing a miracle (seas parting etc. etc.

So not very likely you'd agree........ :-)

How would you know if they were reincarnated? :-)

I'm a non-beliver.

Depending on my mental state at that time, I'd need God to contact me in some way. Most likely I'd belive it was some form of wierd dream (or I'd stop drinking! :-P).

Aparently, around 65% of people in the UK are non-believers of God while the 35% were. I think the numbers are right, i definately know the portion is.

Nothing can make me believe in a God, I find it a conceptual imposibility.

If you want me to believe in a God, you would first have to redefine what a God is.

What is god?

How come people are always reincarnated as famous people? If it was common, should be like "Yeah, I was assistant latrine cleaner for the top accountant in Luxor." instead of "I was Tutenkamen." or "I was a blacksmith in Rheims." instead of "I was Napolean."

I meant in a more rhetorical sense.
'God' is a different concept to different people, regardless if they follow the same religion.

I think I am God, and you are God, and this keyboard is God, and words are God, and thoughts are God, and that ant outside is God.
And this is coincident with more spirtual Christians, Musselmen, etc.

I don't think its necessary to read a book and worship a cross shaped piece of wood to be spiritual...

So if he appeared before you and performed miracles and cardtricks like George Burns in "Oh God" you wouldn't believe him?

Trick and illusions worked well on the ignorant masses a few thousand years ago, but For me to beleive I need to see a true violation of the Physical laws of Nature... No Little Donny Osmond does not count ;-)

Hoya!

@Cyberus

Aren't you French? The English for musulmans is not musselmen, but Muslims/Moslems. ;-D

And I think there is, more or less, a universal definition of God. It is an entity which had created the universe, and thus the world. It can love, punish, forgive and you MUST fear it, for it is almighty.
Usually its word is written in a religious book, that, obviously, says the Truth.
And it is a fantastic means of controlling people.

Of course, this is valuable only for a monotheistic religion.

People have been believing this for centuries, I DO think it is the biggest lie of Mankind.

Be funky
