Yes! I'm sick and tired of tha talk about "transition rules" for the new members of the union. We welcomed those nations as friends, now we try to keep them away! What is it with people!?!?! :-x

The whole thing stinks!
I think itīs better that the easterneuropeans who works here is here legally, otherwise it will just be like in the usa or germany where illegal immigrants is used as cheap throw away labour, if they try anything just threaten them with immigrationauthorities.
Brilliant thinking on the unions part!
Instead they should help the eastereuropean unions organize and inform eastereuropean workers that work in Sweden about their rigths.
If the big coporations is globalized the unions should follow. That happened to socialists being international and solidary?
Or are we getting Capitalist Unions?

Capitalist unions? GAAH! That would be horrible! On the other hand, they are capitalist, in a way...

We should have united labour unions in Europe. That way one could force employers to pay decent wages, thus removing temptation of "importing" labour from eastern countries. the priblem is that this would demand a highly increased productivity, or many companies would go under. Also, there would be problems keeping the inflation down.

Many people are against the EU, because they don't like the way it works. THEN CHANGE THINGS, DON'T DESTRYOY THEM! We have never had this kind of unity in Europe before, we should take advantage of that.

hmm...this is a very catch-22 situation. This is in fact a global problem, not just an european one. If we somehow, and I think it'll never happen, manage to harmonize wages throughout the EU, all production will be shipped out to south-america and asia. Look at China, it's our own fault that they are the fastest growing economy in the world. In the western world, production is sold to countries where work is cheaper and government interference is minimal, ie no enviromental control. Why do you think most amigas were produced on the Philipines?

Everything stinks. I hate the direction the world is moving into. What will happen when todays "cheap" nations are fed up doing our dirty-work? Perhaps situations will be reversed? World-wide dictatorship could be a solution :-D , I'll be the first candidate to run for dictator :insane:
