I'm disappointed they didn't include some guff trying to justify the high price.

That would be a bit more understandable IMHO, since those were a bit rare (relatively speaking) even back in the days, and it has some special features, so it could more easily be seen as some collectible...

Not to hijack the thread, but when I was looking at the auction I noticed this one: FAT AGNUS LOGIC BOARD!

As for the Supra drive, i'll have to charge up my ipad to find out (for the Amiga World, A+, etc PDFs) but i don't recall them ever going that high even new. I seem to think maybe $150 or so...

I still have an old Supra external 28.8 fax modem. Its software flashed up to 33 or 57 or something like that... I think its the same company :) maybe I can get $250 for it...

"Logic board" haha Had to be an Apple person- I think it's illegal for them to use the term "Motherboard".

You could probably report that to ebay for being a misleading description. The board has visibly been hacked for running in a tower case. So "never used" is incorrect. Especially as the seller guarantees it will work, which would be hard without using it.

I'm more annoyed someone butchered a rev 5 board, as they are my favourite (the later yellow boards look horrible).

Iirc I paid $550.00 for mine brand new + $50.00 for the extra ram chip to turn it into an ultra high speed commercial copier. 18 seconds to copy 1 side of a disk with full verify. I was in heaven. :knuddel:

I contacted the seller and he reported he had already sold one to a person in The Netherlands for more than that!

While I am a bit skeptical, I do know from past experience that quite often people from overseas (from the States) do tend to throw a bit more money around than we Americans are right now.

Actually, lied, my dad bought the MSD drive (but i did have the receipt) , and he gave it to me when he moved on to IBM clones.... I was way to young at the time to come up with that kind of scratch mowing lawns :)

It was an awesome drive as long as you ran cracked software. I even had the IEEE interface which made it even less compatible :)

Floppy drive
Who would pay that much for it? I guess the original box is worth that much... not!
You could buy several floppy simulators for that price.

The 1541 II Floppy is cheap at only US$520 from the same loser...

A500 board
Does that mean that I can have a "FAT AGNUS LOGIC BOARD" by simply butchering the power connector and adding a 512k RAM expansion to a really old A500 board?

Actually, if you were to move the decimal point one place to the left, the prices would be fine ;-)

My bad. The auction is still up!

Yeah, moving the decimal would help a LOT!!!
