So I was reading my email one day and what do I get but an email from the current owner of Amiga.org! He has agreed to come on to Amiga Roundtable and answer some questions from the community. If you have a question for him, now is the time to ask it. He does ask that technical questions be excluded as he feels he isn’t technically savvy enough to answer any. So questions pertaining to the website and the community will have first consideration. So if you do have a question, please email them to us at amigaroundtable@gmail.com. The hosts of the show will pick the 10 best ones and ask them on an upcoming show. This most likely be sometime in January as the holiday winds down. We will have a definite date for you when we get a chance to co-ordinate after the New Year.
So come up with a good question or 2 and get it in. Deadline for questions will be January 10th.

I gather this would just constitute part of the show?

So you aren't aware that Amiga.org is owned and run by Spam-Bots?

How many Amigans does it take to change a light bulb? :D

So is this where we finally find out who the owner is, or was that already revealed when I wasn't paying attention?

Not necessarily -- these guys have the gift of gab, as everyone who

Yes, I got lazy and couldn't type more characters -- that must have been Piru's problem even more so (he's usually a bit more verbose). You had better register artble.com if it's not already taken!

Is it true that you tried to flog Amiga.org to Franko for £18,000?
If so, why?

This was after he employed Franko to troll on the site, of course.

Allegedly and I'd take what Franko says with a pinch of salt.

I have a serious question or two.
What was your prime motivator to buy Amiga.org?
What connections with the Amiga community did you have before aquiering A.org?

Is it Barry?

Questions to current Amiga.org owner:
1. Why has the moderation of this site been so lax to let the dozen or so most vocal members ruin so many threads with their behavior that (IMHO) violates the TOS and makes reading most threads an unpleasant experience?
2. What are you going to do about improving this problem and when are you going to start disciplining the offenders?

Is it only me when I say this site went to sewer after Wayne. Egomaniac with funds
Yes, ban me for telling what I really think.

Yes, ban me for telling what I really think.
Which explains why Wayne still posts here.
Get serious. We create the posts, so we're responsible for them.
I even enjoyed some of Franko's posts.
With my friends Xdelusion, AmigaDave, Nicholas, and Karlos still posting here I'm staying.
And I'd hardly call it a sewer.
But feel free to (I doubt it would get you banned - you'd have to be posting on AmigaWorld for that to happen).

Well said, although probably way too logical for an amiga site :P

Who are you?
How did you become an amiga fan?
How much time do you spend on amiga.org?
How much web traffic does Amiga.org receive each day?
Has amiga.org had any issues with use of amiga trademark and images and do you foresee any problems in the future?
Do you have any plans to update or add additional features to amiga.org site and if so what are they or what would you like to offer?
What do you feel about twitter, facebook, google plus as more people use these site to discuss topics and could these services play a part in amiga.org? (example liking or +1 a news post or something)
Which amiga camp do you like the most? and why? os4, morphos, aros, classic, c=usa, other?
The bashing, flaming, off-topic, and trolling that goes on, it happens on pretty much any amiga web site, specially when its a web site that try to cover all above camps how do you feel amiga.org has handled it?
Where do you hope to see amiga.org and the amiga community in 5 years time?

Do you have any regrets buying amiga.org?
what has been the highlight and the low points since you took over amiga.org?
how important do you feel it should be to make the site compatible with legacy amiga bowers? would it stop any upgrades/updates in the future?

Is there an afterlife?
Yes. As far as Amigans are concerned it is the same as what has happened in the last 15 years. It's called limbo
PS where you been?

You're a troll and a liability around here, sorry. There's enough **** flinging around here without an Admin "bumping" BS threads that were entirely made up of flames. Especially since this particular thread Commodore USA respectfully declined.

For all the lurkers who come here Duce is one of our more "passionate" members...
I'm not passionate, I realize this is just a hobby and A.org is just a place for us old farts to BS with each other.
For years now the C-USA issue has been the "hot button" issue that pisses everyone off in some capacity, either for or against on Amiga forums. No one needs to pour petrol on the fire in a thread like this. Not me, not you, and sure as hell not an Admin/Webmaster.
We don't need some admin clownshow bumping garbage like this - and by garbage I do not mean C-USA in the least: the fact they declined the ART Q&A sessions, fair enough - and respect where it is due to Leo and Commodore USA. I'm annoyed because it makes ART and A.org look like a factory of buffoons when staff are bigger trolls than the users.
I find anyone doing their "job" in a half assed or troll fashion a waste of time and they shouldn't hold the job they have.
Sorry if that hits home. It's unprofessional and outright stupid, and a recurring theme with Transition. Fire fueling, scab picking. You want friendly advice on how to improve the place, take my last 2 posts as such. Want to boot my ass out of here for good, knock yourself out. If you think I'm alone in these opinions, you are more insane than I am.
I don't know who owns the site or who I could contact above "Admin" or "Webmaster" status, so forgive me for doing public posts on this one. If I knew who the "Boss" was, I would have simply contacted him.
3 things i have to say.
1 - I'm drunk :drink:
2 - I must of missed the CUSA connection. I thought this thread was about the owner of Amiga.org making an appearance on ART . So how does CUSA fit into this?
3 - You say CUSA snubbed the ART. Who cares? Screw them is all i can say.
4 - All this over a bump smiley?
OK that was 4 things. Whatever.
Kesa, see the other stupid bump in the "Amiga has a new daddy" thread and every other dead end thread that's been trolled via a "bump" imgtag with this guy..
Oh yeah i forgot. I'm only 27. Who are you calling an old fart?! :roflmao:
PS my girlfriend calls me that because she's only 19 (20?) :( :)

I am in agreement with Duce about professionalism. Of immediate concern is whilst writing this I noticed that the displayed emoticons seem to be primarily focused on flaming, infighting and abusive behavior. Not a good advertisement for the site. So hear are the questions.
Questions for the owner:
Do you believe trolling and flaming may affect the long term future of Amiga.org?
Do you have any short/long term plans to protect the future of Amiga.org from trolling and flaming?

Dear Ted *******,
1) Has playing "Mr Hat" in South Park helped or hindered your career?
2) Does Bill P have warm hands?

Wait a second......
Are you calling me a troll? And if so, why? I didn't bump this thread. I'm not even a staff member here. I was asked if I wanted to be a moderator and I declined.
So if you ARE calling me a troll.. back it up please.
And yes.. that was my "mildly annoyed voice."
Wasn't calling you a troll in the least, Rich. My apologies if it can off that way.

Thank You. Happy Rich is Happy.
I have a question. Why has there been an increase in users on Amiga.org? Until recently there was rarely more than 160 users online but lately i rarely see the amount of users less than 250. Compare this to AW.net which seems to be the same as it always has been (about 60-80). Have i missed something?

Well, as someone who just started visiting this site again recently, I can tell you what brought me back. It was my recent purchase of a C64x from CUSA. My first computer was a C64c, and I was a Commodore fan from then on. Anyway, using that reto-style machine got me feeling all nostalgic for my old Amigas, and I dug one out for the first time in years. Then, I decided it was time to poke my head back into whatever Amiga scene was still around, and so here I am. :)

@anachronicus
The amiga scene has broadened out considerably since the demise of commodore or "fractured" if you will. Googling for info on AmigaOS 4, MophOS, AROS, Natami, FPGA Arcade, Minimig, Chameleon 64 (Runs minimig core, I believe) may be worthwhile if you're feeling the nostalgia. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly apologise to anyone who feels that their favoured amigaish spinoff has been omitted from my list, please do point it out to us all should such a thing exist.
Also, welcome back!
Have fun and remember that just because bickering on forums seems to be the national sport of Amigaishplatormsland one personally is not compelled or even expected to take it all so seriously.
B.
