I was playing the old 8-bit classic Hunchback the other day, and after a couple of google searches, discovered that a commercial Amiga version was never made.

Was a PD version of this game (or perhaps a clone) ever made? PD versions of 8 bit classics tended to be better than commercial "updates" anyway.

There's an AMOS remake called Hunchback that was given away with the One magazine.

Haven't played it since 1992 but I doubt it'll be upto much. Pretty sure I only liked it then as you could load it into AMOS and edit the number of lives.

The latest Retro Gamer magazine (think it's the latest anyway) had a feature on it that said it was originally meant to be a Robin Hood game; hence the battlements and the knights trying to stab you.

There's a MAME version that's not bad.

I still have HunchBack on my SDrive Nuxx for the Atari 8-Bit. Fantastic Platformer!

The Atari 8 bits; 400, 800 etc. are amongst the few systems I've not emulated. Given that I've got CPC, C64, Spectrum and MSX emulators, are they worth looking into?

Well we would not have the Amiga if it were not for the Atari 8-bit...

Go here and have a look around. ;)

BTW, I dont' emulate, I use the real deal when it comes to this 8-bit computer. I just got a new GFX card for my 600Xl and 130Xe btw. Both have stereo sound, hard drives, SD card readers in place of floppy drives, and 1Mb of RAM a piece. Perhaps the best computers of the early 80's despite the C64's SID chip and multi-color displays.

If you must emulate, use this:

That other emulator that everyone uses is WAY out dated and crappy by comparison, though of course to use Altirra, you gotta have windows for the time being. :/

hallatie is just a bot, it copies and pastes OP's between various Amiga forums to make people click the link in its signature or user page. Don't bother conversing with it :)

Wonder why mods haven't spotted and deleted it yet.
