Happy Holidays all!
I have an A3000 with a 3640 accelerator. I installed a Cybervision card and the driver software, and am having a strange problem.
The 3000 will boot and will run the shell and multiview with no problems. But from the workbench when I click a drive or an icon, it locks up.
It does not do this in native modes.
What am I doing wrong?

What Workbench and Kickstart version do you have?
What RTG-software are you using?

Are you using a Cybervision 64 Zorro3 or a Cybervision 64/3D Zorro2/3 :-?
i used to have this problem on my a1200 with a cybervision, install the latest version of cybergraphx, that sorted it out for me

Hi Dave, that's almost the same setup I have. My machine is an A3000 with 3640, 16MB/2MB, CV64/3D. I'm running CGX V3 and it works fine with OS 3.1 and 3.5. I presume you are running OS3.9 on that machine, right? If I can be of help, let me know.
By the way, we missed you at the meeting last week.

I am running 3.9. I also upgraded to Ramsey 7 and Buster 11. As per the instructions but I couldn't find a DMAC 04.
So I'm still running a DMAC 02. The 3640 runs great with the 02.
The machine has 3.1 roms, Kickstart 45.47
My 3000 came with 2 floppies. But I removed the one on the right to hack a hole in the drive tray so my CPU fan could stick through!
I am going to make the next meeting if I have to use a vacation day to do it!
However, I am grateful to have a job!

So where does the Spectrum come into play? I presume you have the same problem when putting a Spectrum in place of the CV?
BTW, I never did upgrade to Buster 11 and my machine works ok. I think my revisions are Buster 9, Ramsey 7 and DMAC 2 (maybe 4) but I'll check and let you know. It's been awhile since I've torn the thing apart.

This is a Spectrum 28/24 card. For some reason I thought it was a Cypervision.
So, this is not a Cybervision card at all (Duh...)
But I still have the same problem.

:-P Okay... Well, I don't know anything about the Spectrum. I'll keep my eyes open for a solution..

Did some research and found that the Spectrum may not work with Buster 11.
I have reinstalled Buster 7 and will try again tomorrow. I may be able to help someone else out if this is the fix!

Hi machinehead
Take a look
HERE (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/spectrum28.html)
As you can see, the Spectrum 28/24 has a limited 85Mhz bandwidht and ony 1 or 2 MB of VRAM. (you can use a 16 bit mode for the WB)
So you can use only 800x600@24bit with a VSync of 49Hz (too much flicker).
i haven't understood which RTG system you have installed, but i suggest you to try P96 that supports your board as well.
Ciao and Happy X-mas to you too :-)

CyberGraphX V 2.16 (1995) I think I need a newer version to work with 3.1 roms?
