Hi all,

Is this model supported?

I get "Quark/OpenFirmware Console Failed" when trying to install.

Also, if it is supported, will using a non-supported graphics card cause this? I've not got the original card, there is an ATI 9200 128mb card installed.

Or maybe I need to do a firmware upgrade first?

Any help greatly appreciated.

PZ.

It is not supported. This Power Mac doesn't have an AGP slot.

Supported models are:

System ID Model
Power Mac 3,1 AGP-Graphics
Power Mac 3,2 AGP-Graphics
Power Mac 3,3 Gigabit Ethernet
Power Mac 3,4 Digital Audio

Power Mac 3,5 - Quick Silver
- Quick Silver 2002
Power Mac 3,6 - Mirrored Drive Doors
- FW 800
- Mirrored Drive Doors 2003

Power Mac 3,4 to 3,6 have audio support for the integrated audio chip (for other models it's possible to use a supported PCI audio card of course). Some very early models have a network chip that is not supported by the included network driver (but you can work around this by using a PCI network card, such as RTL8139).

MorphOS 2.6 release has a problem with 7450 CPU. This will be addressed in the MorphOS 2.7 release that should arrive shortly.

Oh well, only cost me $10...just another for my Mac collection then.

Thanks for letting me know :)

MorphOS 2.7 (http://www.morphos-team.net/news.html) addresses the 7450 issue.
