News via Prober on Amigans.net

I have successfully contacted Patrick Sucansky, an author of the file manager NTP Commander (Norton Commander clone for the Amiga). He agreed to release it for free and also made available the source code for the never released version 2.2 (including his DICE development environment). NTP Commander is now released as open source.

This is great news!

NTP actually ran fine in 4.1 but a proper port to the next gen AmigaOS systems would be really nice, I far prefer NTP over DOpus.

NTP is great since it has the same keyboard shortcuts as NC, and Norton Commander simply rules!

good to see a app like this go open source :-) but it was good to have something like this on a msdos platform without windows. but to use this on a windows driven platform like modern aos or other amigaish oses is pretty useless(we got dopus for classic). the version that was convertet to the c64 was very usefull thou...

DOpus is just a bad clone of NC IMHO (if you are not talking about the WB replacement).

On my Win workstation I use Total Commander a lot, another NC clone. And how about Midnight Commander on the Ubuntu workstation? ;)

NC rules!
